An exciting and historical first day's play has drawn to a close.

For the first time we have a lady player,

Anna Prisjaznuka, from Latvia,

who won a thrilling match, 3-2, against

Romania's Bogdan Cozmaciuc.

A record 64 players, from 17 countries lined up on the starting grid on Sunday morning.

We enjoyed five century breaks as the young Stars of the Future paraded their skills.

Currently holding the high break is

the 2006 finalist, Vinnie Muldoon,

(pictured right)

from Ireland, who compiled a brilliant

127 total clearance.
