Biography

English was crowned Welsh Champion in 2002 after coming close on several occasions.

He has been one of Wales' leading player since he came up through the junior ranks and is a stalwart on the Senior International team.

He also won an innovative Welsh-English challenge, held in conjunction with the 2002 Regal Welsh in Cardiff. Playing in front of the tv cameras English ran in a century on his way to victory in the final.

The 2002-3 season couldn't have started better for English. Having helped the Welsh team to runners-up spot in the Home Internationals, while in Pontins he also won the prestigious Pontins Pro-Am title. He added the first Welsh ranking event of the season and headed off to Cairo to represent Wales in the IBSF World Championship. After a gruelling schedule, playing ten group matches and five more matches, he eventually succumbed 11-6 to Steve Mifsud in the final.
