Biography

David first played, age 9, on a pool table in a local pub. He soon graduated to a full size snooker table at Bridgend Snooker Centre, where he's played ever since, honing his skills with regular practice partner Ryan Day.

From the age of 13 he swept all before in Welsh Junior snooker, winning every title on offer and moving up to take two British titles.

In 2000 he helped the Welsh juniors to runners up spot in the Home Internationals, winning all his matches. By the end of the season he had dominated the Welsh senior events and is a runaway leader at the top of the Welsh Rankings.

During the summer of 2001 he reached the quarter finals of both the European and World Under 21 Championships.

He also completed his first season, as the youngest player on the WSA UK Tour, reaching the last 16 once and a last 32.

David started the 2001-2 season by being selected as one of the WSA's Young Players of Distinction and has also received a grant from Elite Cymru, a scheme for young sports people in Wales and finished it by being crowned European Champion. He narrowly failed to make it a famous double, finishing as runner up in the IBSF World Under 21 championship, but earning a WSA wildcard to the main tour.

Away from the snooker table he enjoys football and his mum's cooked dinners!
