Biography

Val became the heroine of the Scottish team in the 2001 Home Internationals, when she became the first player to inflict a defeat on the English ladies team since 1996. Her victim was world no 4 June Banks, who she beat 3-0.

Since she has started competing on the world ladies circuit, she has enjoyed considerable success and made rapid progress up the ranking list. In 2003 she became the Plate champion at the world championship and was runner up in the doubles competition.
