Biography

On the back of a hugely successful junior career, which culminated in Alan winning the 1995 World Junior crown, he turned professional in 1996.

But perhaps all the hype surrounding his potential did him more harm than good, and despite a few good runs, he has failed to make much impact on the professional scene.

He reached No. 134 in the ranking in his first season and a successful 1999 season on the UK tour earned him a main tour place. He was also selected as one of the first WSA Young Player's of Distinction.

A miserable 2000-1 season saw Burnett lose his main tour place and return to the qualifying scramble.
