Biography

Hull's record in amateur snooker in both European and World events is almost without equal and he carried this reputation into the professional ranks in 1992.

After a slow but steady improvement he blossomed on the Main Tour in 2001-2, rocketing up the rankings, reached the last 32 of three events and the last 16 of the UK Championship.

One of Hull's less fond memories was missing the final black off its spot for a 147 during the World qualifiers a few seasons ago. He is known as a prolific break-builder, and he made no fewer than 23 centuries during the 2001-2 professional season.

Brought up in Finland, Hull now bases himself in the UK, which has undoubtedly benefited his snooker.

He put paid to the hopes of Steve Davis in the 2002 World championship, to make his Crucible debut.
