Biography

Ian first played snooker when he was twelve, and having won the Northern Junior championship, he took the plunge, when snooker went open, and turned professional in 1992.

In 2002 he returned to the amateur ranks and has enjoyed a successful season on the EASB Senior Tour, reaching sixth place in the rankings and earning himself selection for the England squad to compete in the 2004 European Team Cup in Latvia.

He is the holder of the highest break ever made in the Chesterfield League, with 139, and during the course of his career he has won nineteen Pro-Ams.

While Stephen Hendry is his favourite snooker player, the person he'd most like to meet is Alan Shearer, who he admires particularly for his dedication.

As well as enjoying football and golf, Ian is an avid fan of motor racing.
