Having originally turned
professional in 1993 Geudens re-qualified from the 1998-1999
Eurotour to compete on the main professional circuit. By the end
of the 1999-2000 season he had reached a ranking of 98. His best
result came in the Grand Prix where he reached the Last 64
before losing to Anthony Hamilton in the deciding frame. He also
reached round five of the 2000 Embassy World Championship, again
losing in the final frame, to Mark Davis.
Faced with the choice of a
perilous career of a snooker professional or a secure job
running the family snooker centre, he sensibly chose the latter,
although there was no reason why he couldn't have continued to
progress in the professional ranks.
