WLBSA & EASB LINK UP TO LAUNCH LADIES SERIES                                  4 SEPTEMBER  2004

Dear Player,

Since our last event I have been busy exploring many avenues suggested to me to get our WLBSA Ladies Snooker events up and running again.

I have been working closely throughout the summer with the E.A.S.B. (English Association for Billiards & Snooker) to form a calendar of events for the ladies circuit, open to all lady players in the world. This has now been completed and details will arrive with you shortly from the E.A.S.B.

The tournament calendar will be as follows:-

2nd/3rd October 2004                             British Open                                Woking Snooker Centre

31st October/1st November 2004         U.K. Ladies Open                       Northern Snooker Centre, Leeds

11th/12th December                                East Anglian Open                     Cambridge Snooker Centre

5th/6th February 2005                            Barratts Open                              Barratts, Northampton

5th/6th March 2005                                 Connie Gough Nationals              Rileys, Luton

2nd – 6th April 2005                                 World Ladies Championships      Barratts, Northampton

To include World Open, World Billiards, World Seniors, World Juniors, World Doubles & World Plate

As we are working with the E.A.S.B. there have had to be some changes to adopt some of their rules.

For instance, we will adopt their ranking list, with the first event being completely drawn out of the hat with no seeded players. Seedings for subsequent events will be calculated from that and subsequent events.

Also, the entry fee for each event may seem particularly high, but all players reaching the last 16 will get their entry fee back and those losing in the last 32 and preliminary rounds will have a plate competition to play in.

All players must be E.A.S.B. members. The E.A.S.B. will cover the costs of the officials and any shortfall in the prize fund relating to the entry fees. So the prize fund stated will be guaranteed.

Please note that this may not be a permanent arrangement but we need to get the circuit going again before we can move forward in any direction.

This is the best offer we have had so far as no one else seems to want to help.

I sincerely hope that you will all support it, at least just until we can achieve our own sponsorship and once again be independent.

I look forward to seeing you all playing again.

Best wishes

Yours sincerely
