2004 EBSRA AGM & ELECTIONS

Following its Annual General Meeting, held during the European Championships in Austria, the EBSRA confirm the results of the elections:

 

Mr Simon Smith (England) has been elected chairman

Mr Maxime Cassis (France) has been elected vice chairman

Ms Geraldine McGillivary (Rep Ireland) has been elected secretary

 

6 board members have also been elected:

 

Daniel Bontinck (Belgium)

Herbert Dean (England)

Veikko Hannula (Finland)

Linda den Hartog (Netherlands)

Ron Hope (England)

Eamonn Kearns (Ireland)

 

In accepting the chairmanship, Simon addressed the meeting saying “This is an exciting time for the Referees Association and I am convinced that the enthusiasm and commitment of the board will greatly assist in developing the legacy of the Association and ultimately benefit referees and member associations in improving and promoting higher standards of refereeing sport”.

 

In thanking members for their support, Simon also gave a pledge to outline proposals for the ongoing development of the association and a full statement on the objectives of the new board which he aims for the association to achieve during this term of office following the first meeting of the new board.

 

Before the commencement of the semi-final matches of the evening session, a presentation was made by the board of the EBSRA to Bill Telford of an engraved memento recognising his contribution and services to the association.
