| 2004 IBSF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP - First Lady of Snooker 3 December 2004 | ||

Nineteen year old Evans, from Dudley in the West Midlands, has shot to the top of the Ladies rankings.
She won her first
ranking title in 2003, reached the final
And she impressed many onlookers earlier this summer when she competed alongside the world's best junior players in the IBSF World Under 21 Championship, reaching the last 32.
During the course of the group matches she compiled her career best and the tournament best break, 105, for which she collected 550 Euros.
But the best pay out came when she lifted high the magnificent IBSF World Ladies trophy, after completing a 5-1 win over Belgium's Jans, and banking the winning cheque for 2,900 Euros.
Evans was thrilled not only with her victory, but the chance to even the score with Jans. "Revenge", said Evans with a huge smile on her face, referring back to her loss in the European Championship final.
"I came here to win this event, I always knew I could, and I'm absolutely delighted. I think I played the best snooker both tonight and right through the tournament."
For the first time in many years ladies snooker doesn't have one dominant player at the top of the game. Evans and Jans will undoubtedly contest many finals, but England's Katie Henrick is snapping at their heels.
She lost out in the semi final 4-2 to Wendy Jans, but the game turned on a couple of balls, and perhaps just an edge of experience in the Belgian's favour. |
